Fate smiled and destiny laughed as she came to my cradle...Natalie Merchant, "Wonder"
that he will go somewhere "peaceful" and get bullied
it means that hes going to get made fun of
It means that they are sending him off to a place where he won't be safe from other peoples judgement anymore. It also means he doesn't know what he is getting himself into by making the decision to go to school.
He saying that if you send him to school he feels like people are gonna pick on him and hes not gonna know how to handled it. Because he is normally home schooled and not used to sticking up for him self the fact that his sister vVa dose it for him.
He is going to go to his school in a calm manner but that's not what it really going to be like.
i mean going to his school is going to be like the movie but he going to get bullied
Send him to school August to schools is sending him some where were people will make fun of him for how he looks like
It means sending him off to schools which looks fun ,but really he is going to be bullied.
In page 43, first paragrah it says its "Something that you say about someone who goes somewhere calmly, not knowing that something unpleasant us going to happen to them"
That sending him to school would be like killing him.
I think that the quote means that it is going to be a hard year for him
i think wonder is just scared to start school
Too send someone somewhere you know they wont heal from.
The statement means someone doing or going somewhere calmly because they don't know something bad is going to happen.
School would be hard for him.
basically he think school is like an expection of kindness and like the school movies, but he going to face the reality of school and think it sucks because he getting bullied. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL FOR AUGGIE
it is like killing him
This quote means someone or something is going somewhere and they don't know that something bad or unpleasant is going to happen.
I think it means that he is going to get killed on the inside by the bullying and getting made fun of
Because they know that sending him to school will mean that he will most likely get picked on.
It means by sending him there they think he wont know what to do and will end up not working out
i say the same thing
sending him to school will make Auggie unhappy
"Lamb Off to the Slaughter" means like has mom is sending Auggie to die in middle school. People wont be friends with him and no one would want to talk to him. Auggie will be very lonely.
i think it means that August is going to school and is going to be bullied and mistreated for what he looks like.
"like a lamb to the slaughter it something you say about someone who goes somewhere calmly, not knowing that someting unpleasant is going to happen to them
It means his parents know he will be made fun of but send him anyway like in the way you send a baby lam to the slaughter house
It means something , it also mean like something you don't know thats going to happen
The phrase refers to the fact that August has no idea what school will be like and so don`t his parents. When you send a lamb to the slaughter it has no idea its about to get killed and so it does not resist. If August knew for a fact that his school experience would be bad, which he does not, like his parents worried he would not want to go there.
Max, YOU ARE SPOT ON!
that means he wont survive school
Sending something that can't not defend it self to a dangerous place.
He knows school want be fun for him
It means going somewhere that something bad is going to happen but not knowing it.
it means to send someone somewhere they have never
It means that he is gonna have a hard time in middle school
It means that he doesn't know that it will be bad like a lamb being sent to the slaughter.
If you send him to school he will get picked on
if you send someone to do something that they are not ready to do
It means that he's going to school thinking that everything's going to be fine, but a lot of people are going to make fun of him.
I think that the phrase sending a lamb to the slaughter as quoted on page forty-three "something that you say about someone who goes somewhere calmly, not knowing that something unpleasant is going to happen to them."
G.S.- "Lamb to the Slaughter" Something that you say about someone who is going somewhere new, not knowing that something negative is going to happen to them.
K.T.- I agree with Gabie because if your new to a school then how are you supposed to know something bad will happen because you don't know anyone to tell you.
Not a safe place to be
I think it means to do something dangerous
I think it means that they are letting him try something new and hes not really used to it and it may hurt him in some way.
Well for once lambs cant kill, so i think theyre saying that youre sending auggie to a place where he has no idea really what it is, or what to do.
I think it means not knowing the danger of something.
to send someone ,or something to a place that they dont know about
i think that "sending him to school like a lamb to the slaughter" means that there sending him somewhere he has no chance
He's going to get made fun of
that his scared his gonna get made fun of
it means going somewhere calmly not knowing something bad is going to happen
it means that hes going to be bullyed and his parents knew it and his face will be a socail disorder
It means that going to a place (which on this case a school) and getting physically hurt (on this case getting bullied).
